Proposed $153M Bedford School Budget On The Ballot May 16

Also on the ballot are four people vying for two seats on the Board of Education.

BEDFORD, NY — The 2023 budget and school board vote is May 16, and two seats are up for election on the Bedford Central School District Board of Education.

The proposed spending plan of $152,538,000 is 3.04 percent higher than the current budget.

The tax levy is expected to rise 2.19 percent, which is below the state's tax cap.

"While we are certainly grappling with some significant challenges within the proposed budget, this plan nonetheless delivers a sustainable pathway toward opportunity and excellence," Superintendent Robert Glass said.

Two board seats will be up for election. Candidates running include: Liz Goldman-Sider, Rica Mendes, Betsy Sharma and Kristine Stoker.
