Underage Drinking Enforcement Operation Hit Stores in Somers, Lewisboro, Pound Ridge
Two clerks were arrested, state police said.
The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation conducted an underage drinking enforcement operation in northern Westchester County Feb. 21.
Stores were checked across Somers, Lewisboro and Pound Ridge using an 18-year old volunteer to buy alcoholic beverages under the observation of plain-clothed investigators, supported by uniformed Troopers.
Two clerks were arrested after they sold beer to the volunteer.

Facing a misdemeanor charge of prohibited sale of alcohol to a person under 21 are:
- Jay R. Goldstein, 72, of Ridgefield, CT, employed at Salem Wine and Liquor, 1156 Route 35, South Salem, NY
- 19-year-old New York man
They were issued tickets ordering them to appear in local court at a later date and released. In addition, their employers face possible civil penalties imposed by the State Liquor Authority, police said.
