Pole Dangles Over Bellmore Avenue, Prompts Road Closure

A damaged pole on Bellmore Avenue prompted a road closure near Sunrise Highway.

Patch reader John Pine posted a photo Tuesday night on the Bellmore Patch Facebook page showing police cars closing off the road near Sunrise Highway.

Shame on you PSEG LI (though it may as well still be LIPA)! This pole is damaged and hanging over the road ready to collapse in the wind, been like this all day! PSEG truck came & drove away! NCPD has just this portion of Bellmore Ave closed off, but if that pole falls the wires will wind up on Sunrise Hwy! They raise our rates and give us terrible service.

Police said there was no estimated repair time as of Wednesday morning.
