Police Charge Man in String of Tire, Rim Thefts
Man charged with three thefts in and near Bellmore, cops said.

A Queens man has been charged will stealing tires and rims from high end cars across the South Shore in January, according to Nassau County Police.
Christopher Moise, 27, of Laurelton, was charged in connection with three overnight thefts from 2014 and 2015 Mercedes Benz vehicles, detectives said.
Police believe Moise struck Hampton Boulevard in Massapequa on Jan. 2, Grand Avenue in Bellmore on Jan. 4, and Edna Court in Baldwin on Jan. 31.

Moise was charged with three counts of third-degree grand larceny. He was arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
The thefts Moise is charged with committing are part of a larger trend of larcenies involving tires and rims, police said. An arrest has not yet been made in 23 similar thefts.

NCPD is continuing their search for other culprits in the crime pattern. Officials said 2014 and 2015 Mercedes Benz vehicles have been targeted across the county. Anyone who spots suspicious activity in their neighborhoods is urged to call 911 immediately.
NCPD is “actively investigating” the thefts and said they are “employing all available resources to locate and arrest those responsible for these larcenies.”
According to a map released in February of the incidents, thefts have been reported in East Meadow, Merrick, Massapequa, Farmingdale, Plainview, Manhasset Hills, Valley Stream, and other communities between Nov. 3 and Feb. 16.
