• Webb delivers $150K for BC Addiction Center (binghamtonhomepage.com) — Binghamton's Addiction Center of Broome County is getting a $150,000 boost from State Senator Lea Webb to renovate the first floor of its outpatient clinic on Charles Street. The project will add new therapy offices, a kitchen, and a dedicated suite for children and teens affected by substance use, expanding access to safe, modern treatment space in the city. 
• Expect delays on Broome Corporate Parkway, Powers Road this week (pressconnects.com) — Broome County crews are starting a new round of paving, drainage, and maintenance work this week that could slow drivers on Pierce Creek Road, Powers Road, Old Route 17, and several other routes. Expect temporary traffic impacts, culvert work, ditch cleaning, and blacktop repairs as projects roll out across the county. Plan extra time if you commute on these stretches near Binghamton.
• Study explores expanding contraception vending across New York campuses (vendingtimes.com) — Researchers at Binghamton University are surveying students about emergency contraception vending machines and broader access to over-the-counter contraceptives on New York campuses. The campus installed its own emergency contraception machine in 2024 after a student petition, and pharmacy students have since advocated statewide for requiring such machines at SUNY and CUNY schools. The study will compare demand for vending machines with interest in other contraceptive options.
