The Chapel School Students Integrate Technology to Bridge Generations, Cultures and Disciplines

Bronxville, NY- Middle School students at The Chapel School used technology to bridge their lessons with students around the globe. The 7th and 8th grade had a chance to speak to the Winston Churchill School in Mexico City, Mexico to compare Halloween and Day of the Dead. Ms. Liliana, middle-school teacher at the Winston Churchill School, was eager to connect with The Chapel School via Skype to share stories and customs between both celebrations and for both schools to practice their English and Spanish translations. Students from both schools are excited to continue the dialogue and share their holiday traditions and upcoming experiences.

Various programs at the school enable the wonderfully diverse Chapel School family, which includes parents, guardians, students, teachers, administrators, to explore and celebrate traditions and accomplishments of people from a wide range of backgrounds. Field trips, special visitors and interdisciplinary curriculum connections help to make each unique experience meaningful and memorable. “As we prepare our students for high school and beyond, our uniquely small class sizes enable us to partner with parents and guardians to meet the increasingly complex social, physical, emotional, spiritual and intellectual needs of today's 'tweens',” stated TCS Principal Michael Schultz.
