The Chapel School's Announces Exciting New Music Partnership with Concordia Conservatory!

On Tuesday, January 10th, and Friday, January 13th, Concordia Conservatory will be introducing its NEW music partnership with Preschool families at The Chapel School (TCS). TCS's 3- and 4-year-olds will soon have the opportunity to take "Great Beginnings Recorder" lessons with Clare Hoffman on Tuesdays, and "Guitar Launch" with Lee Metcalf on Fridays for 8 weeks starting the week of January 23, as part of TCS's Preschool After-School Enrichment Program. "Our music program is one of the best around," commented TCS Principal Michael Schultz. "But I just could not pass up the opportunity to connect with Kathleen (Suss) and the highly-regarded faculty and music education program she has created at Concordia."

Perhaps most exciting about this announcement is the potential long-term benefits to the music programs within the partnership ... and the effects it will have on the community. "The Chapel School's Music Teachers, George Heath and Kate Marino, do a truly marvelous job," applauded Conservatory Director Kathleen Suss. "We cannot wait to work with them to bolster their programming from the bottom up, exposing the little ones to basic instrumental instruction and musical story-telling ... and eventually helping middle school students to develop a mastery level needed to engage in composition. The mission of Concordia Conservatory is to inspire, instruct and enrich lives through music in the community and this partnership is a perfect match of two missions of neighboring educational institutions."
