On October 4, 2016, St. Joseph's students here in Bronxville were treated to a fabulous view of the Earth. St. Joseph School and the S.J.S. Mothers' Club brought Mobile Ed Productions into the school gym for a closer look at our planet. According to Mobile Ed Productions' website, the Earth Dome is a gigantic inflatable earth balloon standing 19-feet high and 22-feet in diameter. It's made of 24 huge panels silkscreened with photographs shot from satellites of the surface of the world on cloud free days. SJS students from Kindergarten through 8th grade were able to view these images from both inside and outside of the dome while receiving enriching geographical information tailored to each grade level. The unique perspective was well received by both students and faculty and served as an unforgettable visual enhancement to their regular curriculum.
