On September 4th, 2018 the Eastchester Town Board approved the appointment of Of a hearing officer to investigate matters concerning Chief of Police, Timothy Bonci. As reported on News12 and LOHUD, the Chief reportedly did not properly secure his firearm and had it stolen. A person was arrested with the Chiefs firearm and the case is being prosecuted in the New Rochelle City Court. Several residents expressed concern at the September 4th, 2018 Town Board meeting as the town board members indicated the matter would be thoroughly investigated.
