Pelham, NY- Anne Hutchinson Chapter, NSDAR, Bronxville, NY, board and members June Fisher, Marian Moore, Cynthia Cristofaro, Debbie Cestone, Susan Bartlett, and Susan Fine, after re-electing APRIL SANDMEYER, to stay on as Regent, during their annual meeting, at the home of Barbara Bartlett, in Pelham. Sister- in- law, Susan Bartlett is holding an award, from the NYC Planning Commission, who named their Archives Room after Barbara, who had done outstanding work there for over 40 years, as well as volunteered for many Westchester organizations. She was actively involved in the Junior League both in NYC and Pelham, initially volunteering for Mayor Lindsay, later serving as Treasurer and then President of the Pelham League. She served on many boards as well, spending 30 years on the Town of Pelham Assessment Review Board, and 20 years on the Village of Pelham Architectural Review Board. She was Chairwoman of the Presentation Reception at the Bartow-Pell Conservancy, and was the sole recipient of Bartow-Pell's Zelia Hoffman Award for Outstanding Service. In 2017, she was honored as a Pelham Woman of Distinction. Barbara was a dedicated DAR Officer, as First Vice Regent from June 2009-May 2010, and Registrar from May 2012-Oct. 2016. Barbara was passionate about design, architecture, and history - this was evident in her contributions to the revitalization of downtown Pelham, as well as her involvement with the DAR, Mayflower Society, and Colonial Dames. Barbara passed away in January of this year.
