Review: Elegance Hits The Nails On The Head

Elegance Nail Salon offers a spa-like setting for men and women, giving customers the opportunity to unwind and relax with their professional staff in a hygienic and hotel-like atmosphere.

Women's and men's manicures and pedicures are offered among an entire range of specialties such as back, neck and foot massages.

When checking out the enormous setting, I brought along a female guest to test out the nail salons best offerings, since I was not really familiar with the normal protocol for manicures. I feel obligated to disclose that your fearless reporter also permitted himself to indulge in a wonderful foot massage along with a men's pedicure. 

As my guest's manicure began, her jewelry was put into an hour glass-like structure containing a cleaning solution and she was given a bottle of water and a hand massage with exfoliating cream. After they washed her hands, they placed them in paraffin wax several times. After the paraffin wax treatment, her hands were placed in a heated glove like pouch. While this was happening, she also received a brief but refreshing neck and shoulder massage. The manicurist peeled off the wax, massaged her hands and arms and then proceeded to do the manicure.

On another occasion, my guest also received a ten-minute back massage that she said was incredible.

According to Elegance, many men come in everyday to trim their fingernails and toes in order to keep them clean. It was an idea that I never considered, but after having my feet massaged and toenails clipped, it's a delightful luxury that I will say I am willing to take.

For my experience, I was also given water and was asked to sit in a high tech massage chair that seemed to do everything but write this article for me. It massaged my neck and my upper and lower back. My feet sat comfortably in a Jacuzzi for a few minutes before being cleaned and massaged and my toenails cut.

The amiable staff works in a professional and–more importantly—an extremely clean environment. There are oven like contraptions throughout the large "spa" that sterilize all metal utensils. Other tools such as wooden cuticle pushers and nail files are all used once and disposed of so the cleanliness factor at this nail salon deserves high marks.

The promotional brochure I received clearly states, "The tools we use are disposable, disinfected and sterilized."

It continues, "We use all disposable tools on each customer. (Nail files, orange sticks, sponges, while block buffers, waxing sticks, paraffin, etc.)"

There are also widescreen televisions showing movies and the music is light and soothing. My guest appreciated the neck massage and the manicure so much that she has now become a regular. Going into this project, I must admit I was somewhat uncomfortable—I'm not really someone who has ever spent time in a manicure salon— but I could see myself having a ten-minute massage to work out the kink in my neck, or even, possibly, if no one is looking, having my toenails trimmed again.

My guest declared this was the best nail salon she had ever been to and that it had the atmosphere of a spa at a top tier resort. The menu offers a variety of services in a completely stress-free atmosphere. So, if you're looking for a place to get away from it all, Elegance is a wonderful and convenient option.
