Santa to Celebrate Small Business Saturday at Groom Spot

TUCKAHOE N.Y. – Is your favorite furry friend on the nice list? If so, then be sure to stop by Groom Spot on Saturday, November 25 from 3pm-5pm. Santa will be making a guest appearance at the local grooming salon and will be posing for photos with the all the “Good List” dogs. “We decided to have pet pictures with Santa this year, as a way to kick off the holiday season and celebrate Small Business Saturday,” stated Julie Vandak, co-owner of Groom Spot.

Small Business Saturday is a shopping holiday held on the Saturday after US Thanksgiving during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. It is a way to promote local businesses and encourage community members to support the local vendors. Visitors to the salon will have a chance to have their pets photo taken, listen to holiday music, and peruse the “Doggie Thrift Shop.” The thrift shop consists of new or gently used items that other pet owners have donated. All money raised from the thrift shop is donated to Pets Alive, a local animal charity. “We created the doggie thrift shop as a way to give back and help raise money for this deserving charity.” Pets Alive holds a special place in the hearts of Julie & Larry Vandak. Visitors to the salon are often greeted by Groom Spot’s “mascot” Maeby. This rescue dog was adopted from Pets Alive, by Julie and Larry and can often be seen “hard at work” at Groom Spot. “We are excited to be a part of the Tuckahoe community, and look forward to celebrating Small Business Saturday this year with our special guest.”
