SJS Celebrates the Season at Cabrini
3rd Grade students from St. Joseph School in Bronxville visit familiar faces for the holidays.

Students at St. Joseph School in Bronxville are no strangers to the residents at St. Cabrini Nursing Home in Dobbs Ferry. On December 18th, the children dropped in to say hello to their friends, sing Christmas carols and spread holiday cheer. This is SJS’s third year participating in this cherished tradition. Nineteen third graders, accompanied by their teacher Ms. Amanda Christensen, School Principal Mrs. Mary Ellen Sanchez and a handful of parent volunteers, decked the halls with homemade cards and stuffed Christmas bears sent with love from the entire SJS family. Dressed in holiday style, the students caroled their way across each floor bringing tidings of joy!
Throughout the school year, SJS student groups alternate visiting Cabrini on a monthly basis. Some past favorite activities with the residents have included bingo, pizza making and coloring together. The students would like to thank Christy Pandekakes, The Mothers' Club of St. Joseph's School- VP Children's Programs, for her dedication in fostering this beloved collaboration. The children look forward to many more years of friendship at Cabrini.
