Bronxville, NY- The Village Lutheran Church, Lutheran Women’s Mission League, recently collected money for Lutheran Charities. The Ladies of the LWML led a successful drive to raise funds for ‘We Care Tubs.” Almost $800 was collected for the tubs, which come packed with items that residents might need as they clean up following the flooding in Baton Rouge. According to an LWML member, “ We collected enough for 3.75 tubs; almost double our target.” The women of LWML decided to “Share the Love of God in a practical way! There are thousands of families that need help after the Baton Rouge flooding and the need is growing with the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew in the South East,” stated one member. The tubs are a cost effective and easy way to assemble all the kitchen goods that a family needs when returning to their home. The goal was to sponsor 2 complete tubs, they not only met but they exceeded their goal. “Thank you for your outreach efforts VLC. Great job of sharing the love of Christ,” stated Rev. Dr. Robert Hartwell, Senior Past at Village Lutheran Church
