Village Lutheran Church Youth Group Gives Back

Bronxville, NY- On Thursday, December 8th, the 3rd-8th grade youth of Village Lutheran Church joined together in a night of service to the community. Each youth brought in a Christmas present that will be given to a child who is at-risk or in foster care in Westchester County. Together they wrapped the toys, games, books, and other gifts that will help brighten another child's Christmas morning. Approximately thirty children participated in this annual tradition and together they wrapped over fifty presents. The youth group has been donating and wrapping gifts for atleast ten years and hopes to continue the wonderful tradition. “Since we are blessed with more than we need, it is our responsibility to share with those less fortunate,” stated Kate Marino. It is true that a little giving can go a long way! "It is great to see the youth of our congregation coming together and thinking of others during this wonderful season of Advent," stated Rev. Dr. Robert Hartwell, Senior Pastor of Village Lutheran Church.

Kate Marino, The Chapel School Music Teacher for Pre-K through grade 2 and Youth Minister of the Village Lutheran Church, organized the event.
