This Fall, the Westchester Italian Cultural Center is making sure you and your family can make some awesome memories together at our Family Programs!
1. Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 2:00pm - MERRY CHRISTMAS WITH STREGA NONNA
Natale is by far the most important holiday of the year in Italy, and family gatherings are the most important part of the festivities. During this time, families reunite, spending time together celebrating old traditions that have been passed down from one generation to the next. Re-discover the magic of Christmas, and join us as we make traditional pizzelle and enjoy a special show based on one of the most heartwarming stories by Tomie DePaola: Merry Christmas Strega Nona. Laura Caparrotti of Kairos Italy Theater, will take you into Strega Nona’s world as she learns about the true spirit of Christmas when a special someone gives her a gift that she will never forget!

2. Saturday, January 7, 2016 at 2:00pm - VIVA, VIVA LA BEFANA
La Befana is an Italian Christmas tradition that has its origins in the 13th century. Befana is a benevolent old woman who delivers gifts to children on January 5th, the eve of the Epiphany. The program includes a stocking decorating workshop, followed by a special show where La Befana will arrive to tell her story to all the children and distribute candies and gifts to all. 3. Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 2:00pm - CARNEVALE PER BAMBINI
In modern Italy, Carnevale is generally a time for children, who are led, carried, and wheeled around town dressed in costumes and extravagant masks. Learn about the history and tradition of Carnevale, decorate your own mask, sing along and dance to the traditional Italian folk songs, and enjoy some Carnevale sweets.
4. Plus, starting in September, our Mommy & Me Italian Language Classes are back!
10 Sessions, once a week, suitable for children ages 12 months to 3 1/2 years old!
Tuesday, September 13 to November 22 at 10:30am-11:30am
