The Writing Institute at Sarah Lawrence College Presents Fall Workshops
Classes in fiction, non-fiction, and writing for stage and screen, as well as workshops in publishing and book promotion are being offered.

Yonkers- August 30, 2016 – It’s not too late to sign up for fall classes at The Writing Institute at Sarah Lawrence College, which is offering a variety of non-credit courses designed for writers from the aspiring to the published.
Classes in fiction, non-fiction, and writing for stage and screen, as well as workshops in publishing and book promotion are being offered. For aspiring playwrights and screenwriters, The Writing Institute has many new courses this fall including “Art of the One Act Play” and “Introduction to Screenwriting.”
The Writing Institute is also offering online courses in fiction and non-fiction including a college essay writing course for high school students.

“At The Writing Institute everyone—from the novice to seasoned writers, pre-teens to retirees—can find a class that helps them bring their inner writer to life and be a part of a supportive community,’’ said Pat Dunn, Director of the Writing Institute. “Many writers who have studied at The Writing Institute have gone on to publish novels, memoirs, children’s books, young adult novels, and more.”
All classes are taught by successful industry professionals and members of the Sarah Lawrence College faculty. Eleven-week courses begin the week of September 19, and five-week classes begin the week of October 17. Online classes are five weeks and all begin the week of October 17, with the exception of Writing Your College Essay, which begins September 12.

Those interested in the Writing Institute are encouraged to attend a free informational open house and faculty reading on Wednesday, September 7 at 6:30 PM.
All Writing Institute classes are open to the public, and are held on the Sarah Lawrence College campus in Slonim House at 911 Kimball Ave., Yonkers, NY, 10708. Registration for all classes and is now open.
