Run by the team behind neighboring Confidant, the restaurant emphasizes fresh flour from Brooklyn Granary, a tightly curated natural wine list, and a relaxed, living-room vibe for locals lingering after hours.

L Train Tracks Catch Fire Near Bedford Avenue (patch.com) — Morning L train riders in Williamsburg faced delays after a rubbish fire broke out on the tracks just north of Bedford Avenue station in Brooklyn. FDNY crews quickly extinguished the smoldering debris, no injuries were reported, and service resumed with some residual delays as the incident was cleared.
   

3. Brooklyn Children's Museum Expands Free Access With $5,000 Grant (bkreader.com) — Brooklyn families can now count on free Thursday afternoon visits to the Brooklyn Children's Museum, thanks to a $5,000 grant boosting its Community Access initiative. The funding keeps "Community Access Thursdays" running from 2–5 p.m., with advance online reservations, helping more local kids enjoy hands-on exhibits and programs without admission costs while supporting jobs and partnerships across the borough.
   

4. New York Announces $6.2 Million For Brooklyn Health Care And Community Facilities (nybreaking.com) — New York State is steering $6.2 million into two Brooklyn projects, expanding StartCare's health and behavioral services and renovating the Breukelen Houses Community Center in Canarsie. The money, administered by DASNY, is meant to modernize facilities and add space for care, training, and community programs, with construction timelines and service details still to come from StartCare and NYCHA.
   

5. DOH: First person detected with West Nile Virus in NYC this year (brooklyneagle.com) — Health officials have confirmed this year's first West Nile virus case in a New Yorker and are responding with pesticide spraying across eastern and southern Brooklyn neighborhoods this week. While most infections are mild, older residents and those with weakened immune systems face higher risk, so Brooklynites are urged to limit dusk and dawn exposure, use repellent, wear long sleeves and dump standing water.
