2. 'It's a frightening prospect': Expect high winter heating bills (wkbw.com) — Buffalo and Western New York households are being warned to brace for sharply higher winter heating bills, with local heating oil prices up about 67% from last year. Experts say tight supplies of refined fuels and elevated kerosene costs could leave Buffalo homeowners facing thousands more in expenses, making home weatherproofing and conservation especially important before the cold sets in.
   

3. Bills Collaborate with Oxford Pennant to Bring Buffalo Flair to Highmark Stadium's Blue Moon Bar (buffalobills.com) — Buffalo fans heading to Highmark Stadium can now enjoy a Blue Moon Bar decked out with locally made Oxford Pennant banners, all cut and sewn in Buffalo. Bills fans bring early game day fun ahead of Chargers matchup (wkbw.com) — Bills fans from across the Buffalo area are already camping at Wings Flights of Hope in Orchard Park, turning the Chargers game weekend into a multi-day tailgate tradition. The $30 lot offers bathrooms, covered areas, and a friendly community vibe while also raising awareness for the nonprofit's free medical flights for patients and families.
   

5. WDNY joins DOJ Fraud Division, SBA, and SBA OIG in surge takedown exceeding $245 million in COVID-era loan fraud (irs.gov) — Federal prosecutors based in Buffalo's Western District of New York helped lead a nationwide crackdown on Paycheck Protection Program fraud, including sentencing an Oklahoma woman tied to over $30 million in losses. Local U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo says Buffalo's office remains focused on recovering taxpayer money and pursuing those who abused COVID-era relief programs meant to support small businesses.
