$11K Of Books Unpaid For At Chappaqua Children's Book Festival
It was the result of a computer glitch. Here's what to do if you made a purchase at the event and your credit card was not charged.

CHAPPAQUA, NY — A computer glitch left this year's Chappaqua Children's Book Festival with an unexpected shortfall and organizers need your help recovering the missing proceeds.
Were you at the Chappaqua Children's Book Festival on October 15? Did you purchase a book with a credit card?
It turns out that there was a computer glitch that resulted in $11,000 of books ending up being unpaid for. Organizers of the festival are asking those who purchased books that day to check their credit card statements to make sure they were charged by "Best Books."

If you were not charged, you can pay the Chappaqua Children's Book Festival by donating directly here. You can also drop a check made to "CCBF" to Dawn Greenberg (director) or Joanna Labendz Segal (treasurer) in Chappaqua. Organizers said it is fine if you need to estimate an amount.
Initially, it was believed that a large amount of cash was missing because people forgot to pay for their signed copies. Organizers were eventually relieved to find that what had actually happened was that some credit cards were not charged due to a computer error.
