Beth Davidson’s campaign for Congress in New York’s 17th District has been endorsed by Indivisible Westchester co-founder Shannon Powell, joining over 250 leaders across the district, along with the Rockland County Democratic Party, in backing the leading candidate in the Democratic primary race against Republican Rep. Mike Lawler.

“As a longtime grassroots activist and co-founder of Indivisible Westchester, I am proud to endorse Beth Davidson for Congress in NY 17, " said Powell. "Beth is exactly the kind of leader we need in Congress right now: principled, relentless and deeply rooted in our community."

“She shows up, listens and puts in the work to build real grassroots power, Powell added. "Beth knows how to mobilize our community to win. I’m excited to support her campaign.”

“Indivisible Westchester is an indispensable partner in the fight to take back our democracy, and I’m deeply honored to earn the endorsement of its co-founder, Shannon Powell" said Davidson, noting that "Shannon has been a driving force in mobilizing our community to stand up to the cruelty and chaos coming out of Washington. From the grassroots up, we’re going to organize, fight, and deliver real change to NY-17.”

Davidson, the only Democratic candidate in the NY-17 congressional race who has won previous election campaigns against Republicans and holds public legislative office, is currently an elected Rockland County Legislator and former Nyack School Board Vice President. A thyroid cancer survivor, she and her husband, Jeff moved to Nyack 20 years ago, where they are raising their two children, both of whom attend public school.
