The Working Families Party (WFP) and North Castle Town Supervisor Michael Schiliro have endorsed Chris Burdick’s campaign for New York State Assembly in District 93, emphasizing that Burdick’s progressive political and social positions and government experience make him well suited to advocate for Westchester residents in Albany as the successor to current Assemblyman David Buchwald.

“These two new important endorsements are an incredible honor,” said Burdick. “I embrace the WFP vision of a New York that serves the needs of working class, middle class and needy families and I thank Supervisor Schiliro for his support and confidence, he added, noting that if he has the honor to serve as a member of the Assembly, he will join in the fight in Albany to transform the WFP’s vision into tangible results and will work hard night day and night for the town of North Castle, as well as all the municipalities in the 93rd AD.

"In 2018, New Yorkers elected progressive champions up and down the ballot to deliver real change for working families,” said WFP NY State Director Sochie Nnaemeka. “This year, the Working Families Party is working around the clock to elect even more working families champions — and we're proud to endorse Chris Burdick for State Assembly. We know that Chris will fight for the issues that matter most to working people — and the WFP is proud to join them on the campaign trail this year."

“Chris and I were elected Councilman the same year, and elected Supervisor the same year as well,” said North Castle Town Supervisor Michael Schiliro. “More than anyone, Chris knows exactly the type of support that local municipalities like ours need from NYS. He's a pro with a legal background that will represent us well in Albany.”

"I'm humbled to receive the support of this large group of important labor organizations," said Gashi. "I look forward to working with them to improve conditions for working families in our district and deliver proper investment fort infrastructure in our neighborhoods."

Additional endorsements will be announced by Burdick’s campaign in the coming weeks.

Burdick is running on the Democratic and Working Families party lines for the New York State Democratic Primary on June 23, 2020. Registered voters in Westchester County now have additional days to cast their ballot early. Details are available from the Westchester County Board of Elections.

New York State Assembly District 93 includes the City of White Plains, Village of Harrison, Village of Mount Kisco, and the towns of New Castle, North Castle, Bedford, Pound Ridge, Lewisboro and North Salem in Northern Westchester.
