Chappaqua DAR Welcomes 97 New Citizens

(White Plains, NY) Members of the Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR were delighted to participate in the naturalization ceremony at the Richard Daronco Courthouse on Friday, July 12, 2024.

Maria DeBorba-Silva and Muriel Stegmann presented flags, pocket Constitutions, flag code booklets and flag pins to welcome 97 new citizens of the United States. Naturalization ceremonies are the final step immigrants must take before becoming a US Citizen, after passing a US citizenship interview and exam.

"We are so honored to be able to participate in this meaningful ceremony to welcome our newest citizens and help promote Americanism and uphold the ideals of our country.", stated Polly Cooper Regent, Rosemarie Schmidt.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote patriotism, preserve American history, and support better education for our nation's children. Its members descend from patriots who won American independence during the Revolutionary War. With 178,000 members in approximately 3,000 chapters worldwide, DAR is one of the world's largest and most active service organizations.
