Nueva Luz Photographs: 1985-2011

This exhibit features artists published in the past 26 years in En Foco's Nueva Luz Photographic Journal. The exhibit will include photography by Max Aguilera-Hellweg, Lola Flash, Frank Gimpaya, Bonnie Portelance, Justine Reyes, and Jane Tam.  Since its premier in 1985, Nueva Luz has published nearly 200 artists in 49 issues, highlighting the work of contemporary fine art and documentary photographers of African, Asian, Latino, and Native American heritage.  Through En Foco's visual arts programs, which includes the Nueva Luz photographic journal, artists are free to explore or reinvent cultural traditions, challenge preconceived notions, and engage audiences in a manner that honors all. Located at Sarah Lawrence College's Heimbold Visual Arts Center in the Barbara Walters Gallery. Opening recepetion on January 24 at 5:30pm. Gallery hours: Monday through Friday 9am-5pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am-4pm.
