Georgia Community is 'Mt. Kisco' for Movie Shoot: Report

Newspaper states that Columbus, GA is depicted as Mount Kisco for the movie "Need for Speed" and includes a car chase scene.

Mount Kisco is a setting for the upcoming movie "Need for Speed," but the filming is not taking place in the village itself, according to a media report.

Instead, the community of Columbus, GA is taking on the role, according to the the Ledger-Enquirer, a newspaper that covers the region and reported on Mount Kisco's role in the movie.

In the movie, the paper notes, Mount Kisco is "where car chases end in dramatic fashion with multiple crashes and tumbles along the 13th Street Bridge."

Video posted on the paper's website showed a flipping vehicle as part of a car crash scene.

A fake welcome sign for Mount Kisco was posted near by in neighboring Phenix City, AL, the paper reported, which is separated by the Chattahoochee River. The paper notes that the signage erroneous states that Mount Kisco has a population of 11,042, when in fact the U.S. Census placed the number at 10,877. 

According to IMDb, "Need for Speed" is about a street racer, who was framed by a business associate leaving prison, out for revenge and takes part in a cross country race. The former associate places a bounty on his head, IMDb states. The movie is expected to open in 2014, according to IMDb.
