Karate Kid Shows Discipline With Kickboxing For Fitness Bedford NY

As a martial arts instructor I feel blessed to be able to have a positive impact on the lives of my students. To watch the transformation along their journey through life is amazing and inspiring. I’e said it thousands of time that one of the greatest things feelings you can experience is being able to do something that you thought to be impossible. Whether it be in kickboxing or jiu-jitsu or anything it doesn’t matter. Overcoming obstacles builds our confidence and makes us believe we are strong. This is so evident in Simone. Being able to be a part of her development is something I’m very thankful for.

“Being able to do today what you could not do yesterday and the day before was simply a dream is the greatest feeling you will ever experience.”

First lets just say that you would be very hard pressed to find a cuter kid. Her smile could make the grumpiest guy break. When she is on the mat though it turns into a face that screams out focus. She is the one that I constantly can point to for the other kids to understand what to do. This focus, her drive to get better has carried her to be a superstar in the class. She has such a ferocious fire inside her to reach her full potential. Her non-quitting spirit is something to be admired by us all. When she grapples in jiu-jitsu class I see her do things, find a strength inside her little body that allows her to pull of moves that are shocking. In kickboxing class she reminds me very much of myself. She only moves forward. She walks through punches and kicks with little fear and wants to land her shots. She is so tough.

Simone is a great example of all martial arts provides. Her discipline and focus are well past her age. Her non-quitting spirit is of the charts. At the same time she has had her struggles. A few times she got hurt in class and even thought about giving up. Lets just be honest here. Everyone reading this along with the people standing next to have thought of giving up before. It’s the easiest decision to make. It takes something special, something in our hearts to be able to get ourselves back up off the ground and brush off the dirt. To recover from adversary and say “I’m gonna try again.” I believe that Simone has that something special inside her. She also has the tremendous support of her mother and her father. Her dad has trained martial arts a very long time and understands both the benefits and the struggles that come along with it. I want to thank them both for allowing me the honor of being with them on this journey.
