While the Polly Cooper chapter is committed to year long service to our community ( having logged 1,916 hours of service year to date), this chapter has chosen to participate in this specific service project for multiple years to promote awareness of and education for women's issues and to represent our chapter breast cancer survivors as well as family and friends of our members who have been effected by breast cancer.
Chapter members worked to raise awareness, provide education and solicit sponsorship for the American Cancer society's event.

Regent Rosemarie Shmidt stated, "This is such an important women's health issue. It is almost impossible to find someone who hasn't themselves had a diagnosis of breast cancer or family members, friends, or a colleagues who has been effected by a breast cancer diagnosis." Ms. Schmidt also acknowledges the oft overlooked men who also are affected with a breast cancer diagnosis.
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote patriotism, preserve American history, and support better education for our nation’s children. Its members descend from patriots who won American independence during the Revolutionary War. With 190,000 members in approximately 3,000 chapters worldwide, DAR is one of the world’s largest and most active service organizations.
