In loving memory of Lou Ellen May November 10 1929 – February 23 2024

Memorial service to be held Saturday, March 9, from 2 to 4 PM at Mount Kisco Presbyterian Church.

Lou Ellen May, 94, of Mount Kisco, New York, passed away in Nevada at the home of her daughter, Barbara Kramer, on February 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born November 10, 1929, to Louis and Velma Schmidt in Mercedes Texas. After graduating high school, she studied classical voice, and was a flight attendant for Continental Airlines.


She was married to Charles F, May and lived in Dallas, Texas, where they raised three children: Nancy, Bud, and Barbara.

Lou later lived New Braunfels, Texas, where she was a real estate broker, and owner of a retail shop. Following that, she spent several years overseas in Thailand, and eventually moved to Mount Kisco, New York, where she lived with her daughter, Nancy, for the final 24 years of her life.

She is survived by her children: daughter, Nancy Lindig of Mount Kisco, New York, son, Charles May of Las Vegas, Nevada, and daughter, Barbara, Kraemer, and husband Ted, of Henderson, Nevada; grand children: Jason Lindig and wife Kathleen, Sarah Lindig, Abby Lindig, Morgan Kraemer, and Macy Kramer; and great grand children: Becca Lindig and Charlie Lindig; and a host of loving friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Louis Schmidt, mother, Velma, Schmidt, and brother, Larry Schmidt, who was killed in an Air Force training mission in 1956.

The family would like to thank the Pro Care hospice team for the loving care they gave.

A memorial service will be held at the Presbyterian Church of Mount Kisco, New York, on March 9 from 2-4, and the inurnment is scheduled for April 7 at 1:30 PM, Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen Texas.
