Fire Damages Mount Kisco House, Cause Unkown
Damage in the back of the house; residents displaced.
A house in Mount Kisco suffered fire and smoke damage from a blaze Thursday evening.
The fire at the house, which is located at 50 Maple Ave., started in the back exterior and much of the damage was in the rear, according to Mount Kisco Fire Chief Al Bueti. The front of the house did not show superficial damage, and Bueti said that there was no structural damage. However, a blue tarp could be seen on the upper roof, which Bueti said was done because they cut open the roof for ventilation.
The cause of the fire has not been determined and is still under investigation.

Firefighters were dispatched at 6:38 p.m., according to Bueti, and it took them about half an hour to put out the fire. Bueti praised the department for its work.
Fire departments from Chappaqua, Millwood, Bedford Hills, Katonah and Yorktown Heights were also at the scene, as were people from Westchester EMS and Mount Kisco police. Two firefighters sustained minor injuries, with one getting a cut on his hand and the other having heat exhaustion.

Residents of the house were evacuated and not injured, according to Bueti. Some of them are staying at the Holiday Inn for the night because their landlord is putting them up there, while others are staying with family.
