Polly Cooper Chapter promotes DAR Scholarship Opportunities

Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR encourages students to apply for scholarships from the Daughters of the American Revolution.

(Chappaqua, NY) Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR congratulates area students for their hard work preparing for and completing college and graduate school applications. Promoting education is one of the primary missions of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and our national organization is offering scholarships for graduating high school seniors as well as for college, graduate, and medical students. Last year, the DAR Scholarship Committee awarded 83 scholarships totaling more than $280,000.

There are 25 separate scholarship opportunities in diverse areas of study ranging from nursing, medicine, occupational or physical therapy, law, business administration, English, math, chemistry, music (voice or piano only), American history, history, government, American Studies, historic preservation, horticulture, and elementary and secondary education. Two of the scholarships are for Native American students. The application deadline for all scholarships is January 31, 2022 at 11:59 pm (EST) and must be submitted through the on-line application portal at http://dar.academicworks.com.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is a non-profit, non-political volunteer service organization and was founded in 1890 to preserve the memory and spirit of those who contributed to securing American independence. More than 1 million women have joined the organization since its founding, to honor their revolutionary ancestors and promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism in their communities.
