Polly Cooper and Hudson River Patriot Chapters Participate in Revolutionary Westchester Toast 250! Tavern

ELMSFORD, NY — The Polly Cooper Chapter and Hudson River Patriot Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) were pleased to host an informational table at Revolutionary Westchester 250’s “Toast 250! Tavern—America 250!” trivia and educational event on March 22, 2026, held at Captain Lawrence Brewing Company in Elmsford.

The event brought together community members for an engaging afternoon of history and entertainment. Sean Grady, former NYDAR Outstanding Teacher of American History recipient, led the trivia portion of the program, crafting and hosting an interactive Revolutionary War–themed trivia game.

Polly Cooper Chapter Honorary Regent remarked, “It was an excellent opportunity for our organization to provide community outreach and share the many services and initiatives we offer on both a community and national level.”

Part of the Revolutionary Westchester 250 initiative, the “Toast 250! Tavern” events feature immersive experiences inspired by the Revolutionary War era. Guests enjoyed visits from costumed interpreters, including Revolutionary War soldiers who presented the traditional 13 toasts to General George Washington. Attendees also participated in classic tavern games such as Shut the Box and Dancing Lumberjacks, culminating in a Westchester-themed Revolutionary War trivia competition.

Revolutionary Westchester 250 will continue hosting similar events throughout the year. The next “Toast 250! Tavern” event is scheduled for April 26, 2026, at Peter Pratt’s Inn in Yorktown.
