Recently, TRA (Transportation, Resources, Access) was honored by the Westchester Recreation and Park Society (WRAPS) with the Public Service Award. The award was presented during the 64th Annual Awards & Scholarship Luncheon on June 10, 2022 at the Shenorock Shore Club in Rye. Each year, this honor is given to organizations that have displayed unselfish service on behalf of the residents of Westchester County and in the interest of public recreation, parks, and other government services.

TRA is a dynamic nonprofit organization that promotes the independence, safety, and mobility of older adults and adults with disabilities in Westchester County the Hudson Valley, and Fairfield County. By treating transportation as a public health challenge, TRA ensures that vulnerable residents access the healthcare they need to avoid premature disease, disability, and death. TRA has provided around 20,786 rides to those in need and this number continues to grow.

TRA, previously known as WestFair Rides, has been working with local recreation departments since 2011. Recreation Departments often drive older adults to complete daily tasks essential to their routines. TRA believes that the better they coordinate with recreation departments on behalf of Westchester’s senior population, the more lives will be helped.
