• Former women's prison to become affordable New York rentals (costar.com) — A long-vacant former women's prison across from Chelsea Piers is being transformed into the Chelsea Beacon, a 131-unit affordable housing complex with community space and some units reserved for people with mental illnesses. Aimed at households up to 80% of area median income, the project could significantly expand housing options for Chelsea and nearby West Side residents by 2029. 
• New Home for Aperture Photography Center (nytimes.com) — Aperture, the influential photography nonprofit that long operated from a fourth-floor space in Chelsea, is reopening Friday in a more visible, street-level home on the Upper West Side. Leaders say leaving Chelsea for a renovated Columbus Avenue space will help them reach more walk-in visitors while keeping the atmosphere informal and welcoming for photography lovers.
• Mark Ronson, Andy Baraghani, and Mary Beth Barone Won Big at This New Awards Show (culturedmag.com) — A new tongue-in-cheek awards show called the 'Goneies' just took over Racket, the Chelsea performance space, celebrating internet-famous chefs, comedians, and creators like Mark Ronson, Andy Baraghani, and Mary Beth Barone. The night mixed live music, playful categories, and a packed crowd, adding another quirky, celebrity-filled moment to Chelsea's already busy cultural calendar.
