Anthony's Coal-Fire Pizza to Open Restaurant in Commack

Pizzeria will take over the former deli and Turnbury Lady spots on near the intersection of Jericho Turnpike and Town Line Road.

A new pizzeria has set its eyes on opening a restaurant on Commack's Jericho Turnpike. 

Anthony's Coal Fired Pizzeria has signed a lease to open a restaurant in the Peppertree Commons Shopping Center near off the intersection of Jericho Turnpike and Town Line Road. 

The Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based pizzeria chain, founed by Long Island native Anthony Bruno, has plans to open up a 3,500 square-foot restaurant that was formerly occupied by Big City deli and Turnbury Lady clothing retailer.

The chain is known for its method of using a 800-degree anthracite coal-burning oven to bake its pizzas and other menu items, according to its website

The Commack location will become the franchise's third on Long Island, following its restaurants in Carle Place and Woodbury.

Stu Fagin, a managing director representing Anthony's, said he Anthony's hopes to have its Commack location open for business by November in a written statement.
