Man Robs Suffolk County Bank

BREAKING: The robbery occurred Wednesday afternoon, police say.

Authorities are searching for the man who robbed a Commack bank Wednesday afternoon, Suffolk Police say.

According to authorities, a man entered Chase Bank, located at 39 Vanderbilt Motor Parkway, approached a teller and passed a note demanding cash at 4:30 p.m. The teller complied and the robber fled on foot.

Police described the robber as white, 5 feet 7 inches tall, in his late twenties to early thirties, with olive skin, a mustache and scruffy beard, and wearing a black hooded-sweatshirt, gray pants and black gloves.

The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information about this robbery to call Major Case Unit detectives at 631-852-6555 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
