UPDATE: Stores Running Low on Hurricane Supplies

Generators, batteries and flashlights disappearing from store shelves.

Shoppers at hardware stores in search of flashlights, chainsaws, generators and batteries are already finding short supplies across the region.

“We’ve sold out of all generators,” said Commack store supervisor Miguel Pichardo on Wednesday evening.

As of Thursday, a store associate said the Jericho Turnpike location  had received an additional shipment of 10 generators Thursday afternoon and was sold out within 10 minutes of getting them.

The news is just as bad at stores on Crooked Hill Road and in Huntington, Deer Park, Smithtown, Riverhead, Central Islip, Syosset and Bayshore and Selden, where supplies of generators had run out as well.

The Jericho location had also sold out of C and D batteries and flashlights as of Thursday afternoon, as did Ace Hardware.

However, Ace will have batteries back in stock tomorrow, according to an employee.

As of Thursday evening, both Target stores in Commack are out of water.

An employee at the said they are expecting a shipment of water to arrive Friday morning.

In addition, the is sold out of batteries, flashlights and lanterns.

The Henry Street store is out of D batteries and their flashlight supply is dwindling.
