Two people suffered minor injuries in a head-on crash in Commack Saturday night, authorities, said.
The Commack Fire Department and Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to the crash on Jericho Turnpike near Valmont Avenue at around 7:15 p.m., officials said.

The crash involved a car and a SUV with one person trapped in the car, officials said.
Commack volunteer firefighters used the heavy rescue “jaws of life” tools to pry open the doors, remove the roof and displace the dashboard in order to free the person, officials said.

One person from each vehicle suffered injuries and were transported to Southside Hospital and Stony Brook University Hospital.
About 30 firefighters and EMS personnel were on the scene with two engines, a heavy rescue truck and two ambulances under the command of Commack Fire Chief Andy Babajko and Commack Ambulance Assistant Chief Bob Cavalieri.
Police said no criminality is suspected in the crash.
