Deer Park Gas Station Robbed

Recent spree of robberies continues Thursday evening, police say.

A Deer Park gas station was robbed Thursday evening, the ninth gas station robbery in Deer Park and North Babylon since Nov. 26.

Police say a call came in at 6:56 p.m. Thursday reporting a robbery at the Mobil station located at 2111 Deer Park Avenue at the corner of Claremont Street.

Police had no further info on the latest robbery as of Friday morning.

It’s the seventh gas station robbery in Deer Park since Nov. 26. There have been two in North Babylon during the same period. No one has been injured in any of the robberies.

Police arrested a North Babylon man for allegedly robbing a North Babylon gas station on Dec. 29, but police say the man is not behind the other robberies in the area.

A Ronkonkoma man was arrested for two other armed robberies–at a Deer Park CVS and a laundromat– last week, police said.

A community meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8 at the Deer Park Library to discuss concerns over recent crime in the area. A representative from the Suffolk County Police Department’s 1st Precinct will be on hand.
