• Dave's Hot Chicken to open Deer Park eatery in October as franchisee plans other sites (newsday.com) — A new Dave's Hot Chicken restaurant is set to open this October at 1822 Deer Park Avenue, bringing about 60 new jobs to Deer Park. The fast-growing national chain's first Suffolk County location will share a site with Qdoba and could be followed by additional Long Island spots soon.
   

• Smart Start Centers expands with new Coram location (libn.com) — Smart Start Centers is opening a new educational campus in Coram, expanding a network that already includes a Deer Park location along with Hicksville and Mineola. The centers offer small-group and one-on-one classes in everything from cooking and music to computers and yoga for learners of all ages.
