EAST HAMPTON, NY — It's no surprise to locals that the best lobster rolls on earth can be found in Montauk and on the East End — delicious fresh lobster, with a hint of mayo or buttery goodness, depending on your preference, served up with a wedge of lemon on a soft bun and symbolizing all that's good and yummy about summertime.

Now, the rest of the world is in on the secret: A Town & Country post asked some of America's top chefs about their favorite lobster rolls — and the East End garnered not 1, but 2, of the top 8 spots.

According to the post, Dan Kluger, owner and chef at Loring Place in New York City, gave a shout out to The Lobster Roll in Amagansett, located on the on the Napeague stretch, heading out to Montauk, and made even more popular to millions on the Netflix series "The Affair."

Kluger said, in the post, that his secret lobster roll involves a "flavorful mayonnaise" created with lemon and tarragon.

Next up, Eric Ripert, chef and owner of Le Bernadin in New York, said he thinks Duryea's in Montauk is the go-to spot for the consummate lobster roll.
