Every year since 2009, on the day after Thanksgiving, the Montauk Fire Department has placed its famous Red Toy Box on The Green in downtown Montauk, to collect new toys for the less fortunate children in the community," Lenahan said.
"I am more than pleased to announce that 2016 has been a record year for this effort. We collected way over 100 gifts to share with those who might otherwise have none. Thank you so much for making this happen.
Happy New Year!" he said.
