'Bow Wow Meow Ball' Benefits Homeless Animals

Among the auction prizes is a meet and greet and dinner with Paul McCartney.

WAINSCOTT, NY — If every dog has his day, then Saturday night is a gala just for man's best friend — and four-footed felines, too.

The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons will host its annual Bow Wow Meow Ball on Saturday, with the Champion of Animals Award to be presented to Nan Bush and Bruce Weber for their love of animals and support of the shelter.

The pair, ARF says, has incorporated their passion for animals into a 45-year collaboration; Weber's 2016 essay for Vogue Italia, titled “A Dog Is Not Just for Christmas,” ARF said, "gave voice to the special bond we share with the animals in our families and to the underlying compassion and empathy behind the inclusion of dogs in his films and photos."
