Box Artists Debut Work In East Hampton: Photos

Not only is the artwork beautiful, but it benefits East End Hospice.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — Those hoping to bid on Box Art, both silently and live, can turn out Saturday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church's Hoie Hall in East Hampton.

Artists used either wine boxes or cigar boxes to create one-of-a-kind pieces forBox Art Auction 2017.

But those who wanted to meet the Box Artists themselves, with their creations, were given a special opportunity to do so Wednesday evening at Hoie Hall, at the "Meet the Artists Preview Reception" to benefit East End Hospice".

The event was hosted by St. Luke's Rector, the Very Reverend Denis Brunelle; benefit committee chairperson was Arlene Bujese, and the committee included Theresa Murphy from beneficiary East End Hospice, Debra McEneaney, of the Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center, and Gabrielle Bamberger.

The list of additional supporters included Hilaria and Alec Baldwin, Ted Hartley and East Hampton Village Mayor Paul Rickenbach, Jr.

On Saturday, Ruth Appelhof, former executive director of Guild Hall, will receive the "Spirit of Community Award ".
