Drunk Driver Crashes Into Fence Outside Hedges Inn in East Hampton: Police

EAST HAMPTON, NY — A drunk driver slammed into the fence outside the Hedges Inn in East Hampton, police said.

According to East Hampton Village Police, Toriqul I. Munna, 20, of Jamaica, NY, was arrested on Friday at 1:15 a.m.

Munna, police said, was driving east on Woods Lane "in an intoxicated condition", when he lost control of the vehicle, driving off the roadway, striking a culvert, and then colliding into the fence outside the Hedges Inn.

Munna said his brakes failed, police said.

The crash resulted in property damage to the fence and village-owned grass, police said.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated and with traffic violations, police said.
