Earth Day Celebration at Amagansett Farmers Market Saturday
The event kicks off at 11 a.m. Saturday on Main Street in Amagansett.

AMAGANSETT, NY - The Amagansett Food Institute is set to celebrate Earth Day with an event on Saturday.
"Speaking Seeds," an Earth Day celebration, will take place at 11 a.m. at the farmers market, located at 367 Main Street in Amagansett.
The day will spotlight the importance of seeds. Scott Chaskey, poet and Quail Hill Farm Director, will read from his latest book,“Seedtime, on the History, Husbandry, Politics and Promise of Seeds”.

A seeding demonstration will follow the reading.
Seeds from Salt of the Earth Seed Co. will be available for sale. Salt of the Earth Seeds, a project of Summer Farm, sells only open pollinated and heirloom seeds grown on their farm on the North Fork.

The Amagansett Food Institute is a tax exempt nonprofit organization which supports farmers and food producers on the East End of Long Island.
