East Hampton Man Airlifted After Crashing Into Tree: Police

BREAKING: The crash took place Sunday morning on Route 114, police said.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — An East Hampton man was seriously injured after crashing into a tree early Sunday morning, police said.

According to East Hampton Police, Inga Uyaguari, 23, was driving a 2002 Honda Odyssey south on Route 114 south of Barcelona Neck Road at 5:15 a.m when he crossed the northbound lane, leaving the roadway and striking a tree. A passing motorist discovered the car and driver and called 911, police said.

Uyaguari was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries, police said.

The Honda was impounded for safety checks and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
