Unlicensed East Hampton Man Caught Driving Drunk with On Montauk Highway: Police
The driver was stopped for failing to maintain his lane, police said.

EAST HAMPTON, NY - An unlicensed East Hampton man was busted for driving drunk, police said.
According to East Hampton Town Police, William S. Totino, 65, was arrested on May 1 at 12:52 a.m. after he was seen heading west on Montauk Highway in a tan 1965 Chrysler Imperial with Iowa registration and failing to maintain his lane of travel.
Totino, police said, had a "strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath," bloodshot, glassy eyes, was unsteady on his feet, lacked proper coordination, had slurred speech, and failed standardized field sobriety tests administered.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated, a felony, as well as aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree, police said.
According to police, Totino's license was revoked in 1982 for refusal to submit to a chemical test and again in 1983 for driving while intoxicated; his driving privileges have not yet been restored in New York State.

He was processed and later released on $1,000 cash bail, police said.
