EAST HAMPTON, NY — History will be made Saturday when, for the first time in more than 300 years, the Village of East Hampton will host a street fair.

Organized by the East Hampton Chamber of Commerce, the "First Annual Spring Celebration Street Fair" is set to unfold on Newtown Lane in East Hampton Village on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Steve Ringel, executive director of the Chamber, met with village officials and got the green light for the fair, which will include more than 80 booths on Newtown Lane, where local artists, shopkeepers and more than 30 non-profits — including the Pollock-Krasner House, the East End Children’s Museum, the East Hampton YMCA, East Hampton Historical Society and East Hampton Trails Preservation Society – will display their wares and information.
