Springs School District Employee Files Lawsuit Against District, Superintendent

A former Springs School District clerk has filed a lawsuit against Superintendent John J. Finello and the Springs School Board claiming wrongful termination in addition to alleging that she was subjected to a hostile work environment and โextreme physical and psychological distressโ after โretaliatory conduct,โ according to a report in 27east.
Fran Silipo, who is still currently working as the district superintendentโs confidential secretary after she was removed from her $11,500 stipended position as district clerk, filed the notice of claim in October and is seeking $1 million in damages, 27east reports.
Silipo, who has worked at the district since 1999, filed the lawsuit after a series of events that began after she received a Freedom of Information Law request asking for invoices paid to an architecture firm, BBS Architects and Engineers, who worked on plans for the schoolโs proposed expansion, including her removal as district clerk and being allegedly mistreated by Superintendent Finello, according to the report.
