Project Most's Summer Learning Program is aiming to expand to nine weeks long and serve grades K through 8.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — A caring community is joining forces to give kids in need a summer to remember.
Project Most, an after-school learning program that serves the needs of a diverse community, focuses on closing the achievement gap through academic skill building and enrichment programs.
"That need is greater than ever when the school year ends," Project Most representatives said.

In past years, Project Most's Summer Learning Program was only a month long.
But this year, principal sponsor Hampton Racquet, along with Landscape Details and Bridgehampton National Bank, are leading an effort to expand the program to nine weeks long and to serve grades K-8.

The expansion means a second campus and Most Holy Trinity Church in East Hampton is donating the space.
"Staffed by skilled education professionals, the Project Most Summer Learning Program brings quality programming and summer fun together. Children work hands-on with local farmers, chefs, fishermen, athletes, artists and scientists," a release said. "Working parents will know that their children’s summer days will be filled with the 'most' – organic gardening, cooking, field trips, outdoor exploration, art, creative writing, yoga, dance, music and sports."
And Project Most’s Summer Learning Program is affordable for families with sliding scale costs and discounts for multiple children.
A Good Circle campaign, "Smarter Summers = Brighter Futures" has raised $39,425 of its $52,705 goal; the goal has been set to expand the program and keep it affordable; funds will be used for staffing, youth leadership training, athletic supplies, arts and crafts materials, enrichment activities and programs.
